I always said I wanted a job I could do from my be I always said I wanted a job I could do from my bed. Not from “laziness”, but from necessity: as my chronic health condition worsened over the years, bed rest became the stake that allowed me to keep the fragile sapling of my work & life upright 🌱 . And so, I built my business on my phone. If it couldn’t be done one handed, lying down, then it wasn’t sustainable - I just couldn’t know if I’d be able to do it tomorrow. . It’s remained a central element to my business and to all I teach: connection, embracing digital, keeping things simple to guarantee all i do is as sustainable as possible. It was, in retrospect, a little ambitious of me to It was, in retrospect, a little ambitious of me to think I’d have something worth saying on the internet every day this week, given that I barely have enough to make conversation with my own husband right now 🙈. But here are the Sunday headlines from my little world to yours: . • My car battery died from lack of use, so I had to jump start it and go for a long drive around the hills. It was wonderful, and I’m going to make it a regular thing now. • I ate an entire pack of party rings last night and can’t remember tasting a single one. • Orla’s jumped up four reading levels since starting home schooling, which is awesome, except we can no longer spell out words to have secret conversations around her 🙈 • After some back and forth dithering, I’m putting the Insta Retreat on sale again tomorrow. I’ve given myself permission to do less active promotion for it this time around which feels like a nice gentle gift to myself right now. Link’s in my bio, if you want to check it out ❤️ • Monty dog found a tennis ball in a field four days ago and is still carrying it everywhere with him and cradling it while he sleeps like it’s a newborn puppy 😂💕 . The sun is gone. It is raining. Neither of these f The sun is gone. It is raining. Neither of these facts should be particularly distressing, but in this season of heightened emotion, it somehow feels close to the end of the world. . So, I’m trying to carry my sunny-day thoughts with me into the next week or two of grey skies. Thoughts like: ‘it’s beautiful outside’ and ‘we should go out together and enjoy it’. Because those things are always true - not just when the sun shines bright. There’s always beauty in this landscape, even drenched and dripping and vibrant with spring life. . I’m moving the picnics from the patio to the living room floor. Swapping the sun on my back for a blanket, but still sitting out on the steps and looking up at the sky. (Still cracking open the white wine at 4pm, too, but not sure if that’s one I should be mentioning here 🙈🙈). The sunshine makes it easier to choose lovely things, but the rain doesn’t make them impossible. Wherever you are, whatever the weather’s doing today, I hope you can find some sunshine inside your own head 💛
